DOROT Westchester is situated in White Plains, New York. DOROT expanded its visiting programs to Westchester in 2005, skillfully matching older adults with volunteers for a variety of home-based social programs. By late 2022, programs were also being introduced in Westchester community spaces, giving older adults opportunities to come together with peers to connect, learn and enjoy a variety of activities, including those that provide intergenerational engagement with local teens. THE OPPORTUNITY

DOROT Westchester seeks a dynamic, hard-working individual to recruit older adults from diverse communities to participate in our programs and continue to re-engage our existing client base. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Coordinator will develop partnerships with Westchester community organizations and program facilitators. They will develop, oversee and facilitate interesting and engaging program events in community spaces, and work directly with our Marketing & Communications team on creating meaningful collateral and communication.  The ideal candidate is a highly proactive and critical thinker, who has a track record in creative problem solving and an affinity for older adults. This position is hybrid, working in the White Plains office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Spearhead and coordinate the development, implementation and improvement of an array of programs and initiatives in community spaces that connect older adults with one another, with teens, and occasionally with adult volunteers.
  • Manage all aspects of DOROT Westchester community programs including participant recruitment and engagement, marketing and communications, and logistics and operations.
  • Oversee and execute internal processes that ensure timely and targeted collection of metrics that are aligned with program goals and grant deliverables.
  • Partner with other departments to meet agency-wide objectives and foster collaboration.
    • Coordinate with the Marketing & Communications team to create materials and strategies for programs.
    • Collaborate on best practices with other program teams in the Manhattan office including Onsite & Special Programs, Intergenerational Program Engagement, and Connect Through Tech.
    • Work with the Evaluation department to survey and assess programs and their impact on participants.
  • Input client and program participation data using DOROT’s Constituent Information Management System (Salesforce platform), and the Westchester County Peer Place system.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in program coordination, social services, nonprofit management or other related field.
  • Demonstrated success with program development and project management; experience with volunteer management a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, integrate new learnings, and work both independently and as part of a coordinated team.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Self-starter able to effectively manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal competencies.
  • Comfort working with a wide variety of individuals; previous work with older adults a plus.
  • Understanding and advocating for the importance of social connections to physical, cognitive, and emotional health.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn new technologies, including marketing software.
  • A flexible schedule, with availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate programs including, but not limited to, four Sundays per year for agency-wide Package Delivery programs.
  • MS Office, Salesforce, MailChimp, Canva, Jotform preferred, as well as a willingness to learn new technology.
  • Ability to work at least once per month in the Manhattan office.
  • Driver’s License and access to a car.

Candidates can expect an annualized salary of between $55,000-$60,000 commensurate with relevant experience.  This position is non-exempt.
