Job Title: Development Manager
Reports to: Chief Development Officer (CDO)


Job Summary: The JCC Mid-Westchester is seeking a Development Manager to report to the Chief
Development Officer. The Development Manager will interact with a variety of stakeholders including Board
members, Program Directors, and patrons to steward and grow JCCMW’s mid-level individual giving program, special events and increased engagement programs. We are looking for an organized self-starter who is passionate about community, enjoys collaborating as part of a growing development team of four, and is motivated to support and advance JCCMW’s mission. This is a particularly exciting time to join us - new Board and staff leadership are taking the JCCMW to new heights and an investment in the Development Department is a key part of long-term strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
● Plan and implement annual fundraising Benefit and other special events including patron engagement
programs throughout the year
● Support the CDO to create a low to mid-level patron giving program - implement and administer to
achieve a stable, new revenue stream
● Manage and help to grow a portfolio of low to mid-level annual fund donors and prospects
● Collaborate with and provide direct support to CDO, CEO and Board Leadership, in particular around
special events and patron engagement activities
● Work closely with Development Assistant and help to traffic and coordinate:
o Database of constituents, including but not limited to – gift processing and entry, segmenting of
donors, donor recognition, reporting and analysis, list management, and donor management
(ex: research, plans, contact reports and relevant notes)
o Timely donor communication including direct mail, e-appeals, gift acknowledgements and
acknowledgment letters
o Individual donor inquiries and correspondence via mail, phone, email and in-person
o Donation tracking and reconciliation with the Finance Department
● Occasional weekend and evening work for scheduled events and meetings will be required
● All other duties as assigned
Skills, Education and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3-5 years working in development required
● Experience implementing special events and programs

● Exceptional written and verbal communication, including excellent interpersonal, networking, and
presentation skills
● Strong database skills; advanced Microsoft Office and Google Drive skills
● Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with donors, volunteers, Board,
and colleagues
● Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work with multiple departments and volunteer committees
● Must possess the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality
● Occasional weekends and evenings required

Physical Requirements
The physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include movement within an office environment. The role requires the ability to write by hand and use a keyboard to perform general office functions. Also requires the ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Visual acuity is needed for detailed work, and computer use. The ability to sit for extended periods of time is also a requirement.
Salary $68,000-$72,000 plus benefits (commensurate with experience)
