Employment Type/Salary: Full-Time, $50,000-$52,000 annually
Westchester Residential Opportunities (WRO) is a nonprofit organization located in White Plains, New York whose mission is to promote fair, affordable and accessible housing for all individuals in the lower Hudson Valley region.
Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant supports the daily operations of WRO by providing administrative and clerical assistance. This position serves as the first point of contact for WRO creating a welcoming and professional environment for all visitors, clients, and staff. This role is integral in ensuring smooth organizational workflows, effective communication, and support for programs and events aligned with the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily office operations, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining organized filing systems.
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries and courier services
• Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and other documents.
• Assist with maintaining and updating organizational records, databases, and contact lists.
• Support program coordination and event planning, including logistics, material preparation, and follow-up communication.
• Monitor office supplies and coordinate with the finance team to place orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
• Serve as a point of contact for volunteers, donors, and external partners, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to organizational policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous administrative, office, customer service experience, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with database management tools.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude and commitment to the mission and values of WRO.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
