LMC Media’s mission is to connect, create, and inform the community through the use of digital media. LMC Media was founded in 1983. It is the largest New York based community media center outside of New York City and is a full-service audio, video production, and education center. In today’s fast-paced, hyper-connected world, the ability to successfully communicate, create and connect across a range of platforms is a crucial skill set. As community demand for our programs and services escalates, we simultaneously face diminishing cable franchise fees – the main source of LMC Media’s funding.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director (supported by the Board of Directors)
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is a part time position who works closely with the Executive Director and Board Members to ensure prompt and accurate gift acknowledgement processing, gift accounting, and data management of the organization’s CRM (Bloomerang). The Development Manager must possess proven expertise in fundamental fundraising principles and a deep understanding of development frameworks to drive strategic growth and donor engagement initiatives. The position also does basic invoicing and processes payments for fee for service activities which are done via QuickBooks Online. The position also may be required to perform administrative and event planning duties for the annual Gala and occasional community events.
FUNDRAISING - Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Process organization contributions, including mail, online, direct deposit/ACH, and grants;
Update and maintain donor records within the database (Bloomerang), as well as
optimizing the database as a tool for donor cultivation and stewardship;
Prepare donor gift acknowledgements in a timely and accurate manner;
Assist with the preparation of the annual report donor listing and other database reports;
Attend staff meetings on a weekly basis;
Maintain data hygiene, assist in the creation of data management processes, and
participate in regular upkeep of the donor database;
Assist with online fundraising campaigns as needed;
Respond to email, mail, and phone inquiries from donors;
Assist in the production of special mailings as needed;
Reconcile fundraising income in coordination with Development and Finance departments;
Other duties as assigned.
LMC Media’s long-term financial stability relies on diversifying our funding
sources to include more donations and public support.
ADMINISTRATION - Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Provide administrative and clerical support to Executive Director
Enter specific transactions into QuickBooks account alongside accountant
Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
Perform invoicing for clients
Print and obtain signatures on all checks
Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and
collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous
differences are cleared
Perform daily cash management duties, including the preparation and recording of bank
deposits
Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email,
and mail
Provide front desk coverage, including managing the phone system, greeting
guests who enter the office, managing incoming/outgoing mail and shipments, and
maintaining an organized, clean office environment
Provide direct administrative support to senior leaders, including email
correspondence, and generation and distribution of memos, letters, spreadsheets,
and forms
Assist in collection of documents relative to reconciliation of staff credit cards (2)
Plan, organize, and schedule company meetings occurring in the office, offsite, and
via video conference
Maintain filing system, contact database, employee list, and inventories
Oversee and order office supplies and food deliveries for group meetings
Required Skills and Qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
• Two years of related experience, preferably in a non-profit organization in fundraising, or in
direct sales and customer service. Internships can be considered as acceptable
experience;
• Working knowledge of fundraising databases required, preferably Bloomerang and Qgiv. • Working knowledge of QuickBooks online.
• Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and
ability to meet deadlines;
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
• Must have the ability to work independently and handle projects simultaneously;
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Work, Internet research, and
administrative office procedures.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Works occasional evenings and weekend events;
• Frequently sits for long periods of time;
• Frequently speaks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard;
• May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending.
Hours and Compensation:
20 – 25 hours per week.
Location: The office is located in Mamaroneck NY and some work can be done remotely.
The salary range for this role is $40,000 to $50,000, depending on experience level and is non- exempt. Benefits: Paid time off (in year one: 10 vacation days, 5 sick days, 2 personal days, 13 holidays), 403b Savings Plan (with no employer match).
