Position Description

One of the ways Volunteer New York! promotes volunteerism in our community is by partnering with local companies who are looking to develop or enhance their employee volunteer program. As part of a four-person team, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will be responsible for leading and managing staff for our largest annual corporate engagement project with over 3,000 employees mobilized.

 

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will continue executing customized corporate service events, while maintaining relationships with existing corporate clients, and cultivating relationships with new companies as well. The successful candidate will have a commitment to volunteerism and civic engagement, the ability to build bridges between the for-profit and nonprofit communities, experience in conceiving and implementing creative, impactful volunteer projects, and be willing to go above and beyond when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Working as the VNY! project lead, liaising with the corporate representative through weekly meetings and project moves management, while partnering with internal VNY! colleagues, managing seasonal hires, and external subcontractors to execute project deliverables.
  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating well organized and creative customized volunteer service projects for teams of corporate groups.
  • Compiling data, reporting and project analysis as requested by corporate partner.
  • Ordering and preparing materials needed to execute customized corporate volunteer service projects, including supplies, lunch, and transportation or managing team members to do successfully.
  • Leading corporate Project Leader training in large group settings or one-on-one sessions.
  • Staffing corporate volunteer projects day-of.
  • Cultivating and maintaining collaborative partnerships with nonprofit agencies.
  • Conducting site visits to nonprofit agency partners and providing best practices and directions for project development.
  • In coordination with the Senior Director of Development and Director of Corporate Partnerships, attend networking events and coordinate on appropriate follow-up and next steps.
  • Maintaining updated and complete written documentation of important processes and procedures.
  • Assisting, as necessary, with organization-wide initiatives such as the Annual Volunteer Spirit Awards celebration, Leadership Westchester Graduation, and community-wide volunteer service days (i.e. MLK and 9/11) and other community-wide engagement events, some of which may take place on weekends.

 The ideal candidate possesses:

  • A successful background in project management
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Superior business-to-business relationship development
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage many projects simultaneously while maintaining event timelines and meeting deadlines through strategic planning
  • An understanding of corporate timetables and expectations and the ability to deliver on both
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations and event planning; experience in the corporate sector is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating and generating client reports
  • Salesforce or other CRM platform experience a plus
  • Flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings and occasional weekends, as needed
  • Ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to be flexible, to keep a sense of humor, and solve problems with confidence
  • Must have own transportation
  • Bachelor’s Degree, required

Schedule: Full-time position: 35 hours per week; including the opportunity to work a few days remote each week, with some weekends and evenings required.

Salary: Annual compensation of $60,000 to $64,350 based upon prior experience along with a very competitive benefits package including a health insurance plan, a retirement plan, and more!
