Wainwright House in Rye, NY was founded in 1951 when Fonrose Wainwright Condict bequeathed her family estate as a non-profit, non-sectarian, holistic learning center. The nonprofit includes 5.1 acres of grounds overlooking Milton Harbor, a French chateau-style mansion, a carriage house, and a cottage.

For nearly 75 years, Wainwright House has been the site of conferences, meetings, sacred ceremonies, and classes in various disciplines. We serve the Westchester community by providing a venue for social and corporate events, wellness and movement classes, and sacred ceremonies. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a full-time Director to act as the main point of contact for Wainwright House and provide daily oversight of all functions and operations. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in the non-profit space and be excited about Wainwright House’s mission and boosting community engagement while fostering robust programming and seeking partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising, and grants to maintain and grow our work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive all WH events, membership, fundraising and programming
  • Boost engagement through relationship building with other non-profits, community organizations, our website and social media channels
  • Participation in the annual budget process and management of revenue and expense targets
  • Facilities management, including management of weddings, rental space and contracts
  • Managing the development and implementation of programming that reflects Wainwright’s mission
  • Maintain easy-to-use website and update website content
  • Additional office administration duties such as ordering supplies, returning website calls, printing attendee lists, etc.
  • Reports to the President of the Board of Trustees
  • Variable Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/week, occasional evening/weekend for events

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Non-profit experience (ideally at least 3 to 5 years)
  • Experience managing a small staff
  • Excellent relationship building and relationship management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with membership development a plus
  • Grant writing experience a plus
  • Outreach experience for new members and donors
  • Familiarity with using website design programs, such as Wix
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
