Assistant Grant Writer

Overview:

The WJCS Development team is currently seeking a part-time Assistant Grant Writer to join our team in White Plains, NY.  In this role, the Assistant Grant Writer will be responsible for researching grant opportunities; developing, writing and submitting grant proposals to foundation, government and corporate funding sources; and editing and submitting grant reports.

 

The salary range for this part-time (up to 20 hours/week) is $30.00-$35.00 per hour. 

 

Responsibilities:

As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the management of a growing portfolio of grants/contracts, identifying opportunities and maximizing support from current, lapsed and new funders.
  • Writing and submitting high-quality, innovative and compelling letters of inquiry, proposals and grant reports.
  • Researching, writing and coordinating grants across WJCS Programs.
  • Researching potential funding opportunities.
  • Developing proposals in conjunction with program staff.
  • Responding to staff requests for data, written and other information to support funder relations.

 

 

Requirements:

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
  • Strong editing skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
