SUMMARY 

The Fundraising and Grants Manager is an important contributor to HOPE’s public profile and its financial security. The candidate is responsible for creating and implementing fundraising strategies and tailoring grants to support HOPE’s mission and objectives. The primary focus is on generating financial support through various fundraising initiatives and grant opportunities and cultivating and maintaining donor relationships to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, business, etc.). A master's degree is a plus. Proven experience in grant writing and administration, fundraising, development, or related fields within the nonprofit sector. Demonstrated success in implementing and managing fundraising campaigns and securing major gifts and grants. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing and persuasive storytelling. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, board members, staff, and volunteers. Familiarity with fundraising databases and donor-management software. Strong knowledge of philanthropic trends, best practices, and legal compliance related to fundraising. Strong organizational and project management skills, with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Passion for HOPE’s mission and a commitment to its values. Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities associated with small nonprofit organizations.

 

Grant writing and administration: write new grants to support current programs and prepare grant applications for submission.  Ensure expenditure aligns with established terms, compliance with conditions for utilizing the funds, such as reporting obligations, project timelines and deliverables.

DUTIES

  • Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with the organization’s priorities.
  • Plan and help to host fundraising activities related to HOPE’s goals. This includes annual giving campaigns, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, events, and planned giving.
  • Donor Cultivation: Identify and engage potential donors, major gift prospects, and corporate partners. Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and new donors to secure ongoing financial support.
  • Grant Writing: Research and identify appropriate grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Prepare grant proposals, track status of grant applications, track and record funds awarded during the grant application process.
  • Individual Giving: Manage the individual giving program, including donor recognition, acknowledgments, and personalized stewardship efforts.
  • Special Events: Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events to attract donors and increase awareness of the organization.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Collaborate with the Executive Director and Volunteer Coordinator to identify fundraising opportunities and outreach activities for volunteers to participate in.
  • Management of Database: Oversee the maintenance of the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donors, contributions, and interactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide regular reports on fundraising efforts, financial performance, and progress toward fundraising goals to the Executive Director.
  • Budgeting: Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop a budget for fundraising and managing and track effective use of resources.
  • Marketing and Communications: Work closely with the Executive Director to create fundraising materials, promotional campaigns, and donor communication strategies.
