The STEM Alliance is a rapidly growing Westchester County nonprofit that is building a network of STEM learning opportunities for adults and children. Our goal is to empower our clients with STEM skills that not only lead to higher paying jobs but also solve today’s most critical challenges. 

We are seeking a Resource Development Manager to join our team. This manager-level role reports to the Managing Director for Resource Development to assist with fundraising, advocacy, event coordination, and data management to drive fundraising, policy advocacy initiatives, engage donors and elevate impact through relationship building. Cross over responsibilities and heavy collaboration with our Communications Team is included in this work.

As the team’s technical CRM lead, the manager oversees daily operation and maintenance of Bloomerang (our donor software); ensures accurate data entry and comprehensive gift processing across online, offline, and event channels; executes proactive data hygiene and builds queries, reports, and dashboards that translate data into actionable insights for decision-making. The role manages segmentation and tracking for appeals and acknowledgments, produces tailored briefings and performance reports for leadership, and trains and supports staff as the first-line resource for CRM troubleshooting and best practices. 

Success requires strategic thinking alongside high data skills and accuracy.

 

What You'll Be Doing 

CRM Ownership and Technical Operations

  • Serve as organizational expert and primary administrator for Bloomerang; lead training and best practices for staff and users.
  • Maintain and optimize CRM data integrity through quality control, standardized entry processes, and regular audits to ensure clean, reliable, and actionable donor data.

Data Analytics, Reporting, and Insights

  • Design and deliver custom fundraising and donor analytics reports for leadership.
  • Develop visualizations, dashboards, and advanced spreadsheets in Google Workspace for tracking ROI, donor trends, and fundraising effectiveness
  • Stay current with fundraising analytics and CRM trends; apply new tools and methods for maximum impact.
  • Train and upskill staff on CRM and data best practices; develop in-house guides and documentation.
  • Support grant reporting, annual audit preparations, and donor communications requiring accurate data exports.

Advocacy Strategy & Planning

  • Assist in developing and executing the organization's annual advocacy plan.
  • Coordinate efforts to engage stakeholders, policymakers, and community members in advocacy initiatives.
  • Track and report on advocacy activities to measure impact and effectiveness.

Events Management

  • Oversee event logistics, including planning, execution, and follow-up.
  • Manage fundraising and donor engagement events to enhance organizational visibility and donor relations.
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure successful event execution.
  • Utilize project management tools such as Asana to track event tasks and ensure timely delivery.

Other duties as Assigned

  • Support the overall mission and values of The STEM Alliance by taking on additional tasks as needed.
 

We would expect these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of extensive hands-on experience and technical skills in donor management systems (direct experience with Bloomerang preferred), CRM tools, and data-driven fundraising strategies.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for building reports, dashboards, and data insights that drive fundraising strategy.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets; proven ability to build complex data models and visualizations
  • Track record of project management including experience with event management and production
  • Strong communication skills for translating technical data into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders and written/verbal professional communication skills for outreach with donors and stakeholders.
  • Prior fundraising or nonprofit development experience; understanding of industry analytics benchmarks and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to evolving priorities while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and maintain keen attention to detail.

 

Besides that you might:

  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing donor development, communications strategy, and/or event planning within a nonprofit or similar organization.
  • Prior experience collaborating with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives, set and meet key performance metrics, and meet fundraising goals.
