Vocational Counselor

We are in search of a full-time employment specialist/job developer. Our counselors teach skills and help secure support necessary to achieve overall vocational goals for individuals with serious mental illness and barriers to finding employment.

Location: Brewster/Jefferson Valley, NY

Responsibilities

· Establish and maintain relationships with employers and prospective employers in the community to develop job opportunities to meet the needs and employment preferences of program participants.

· Provide individualized job readiness support such as resume writing, mock interviews and establishing a realistic and viable job search plan.

· Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.

Qualifications

· Four Year Degree in Social Services background.

· Experience in sales and career counseling preferred.

· Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills required.

· Valid driver’s license and insurability as a driver under SfC’s auto policy is required.

· Billingual a plus but not required.
