About Meals-on-Wheels of White Plains:

Meals-on-Wheels of White Plains (MOWWP) is a vital non-profit organization dedicated to serving the residents of White Plains who are unable to shop for or prepare their own meals, regardless of age or income. We are more than just a meal delivery service; we provide companionship, promote independence, and ensure the safety and well-being of our clients. Our dedicated team of over 120 volunteers, along with a small staff and an active Board of Directors, deliver nutritious meals and compassionate care to our community.

Our services include:

  • Delivery of nutritionally balanced meals per weekday, planned by a professional dietitian.
  • Specialized meals to accommodate dietary needs, including diabetic, low cholesterol, soft, and chopped options.
  • Safety checks and emergency response as needed.
  • Building connections and combating social isolation.

Position: Executive Director

Meals-on-Wheels of White Plains is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Executive Director to lead our organization in its mission to serve the vulnerable members of our community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of White Plains residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to ensure the organization's continued growth and success.
  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including program delivery, volunteer management, and financial administration.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, volunteers, donors, community partners, and the Board of Directors.
  • Lead fundraising efforts to secure financial resources and ensure the organization's sustainability.
  • Manage and support staff (2 part-time assistants), fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Represent MOWWP in the community and advocate for the needs of our clients.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to achieve the organization's goals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong financial management and fundraising skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and motivate volunteers and staff.
  • Passion for serving the elderly and vulnerable populations.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree a plus.
  • Experience with volunteer management.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors.
  • Familiarity with the White Plains community is a plus.
