POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining group exercise and wellness programs, including promotion, enrollment, retention, and evaluation. Additionally, it involves facilitating new member onboarding and engagement, with a focus on familiarizing and connecting members within the Health & Wellness department that may be of interest to them.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists in developing and implementing health & wellness program initiatives to promote program and/or membership growth and retention in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  2. Manage the recruiting, hiring, training, onboarding and continued development of group exercise instructors.
  3. Teach and Substitute Group Exercise classes as needed to maintain program consistency and quality. Oversee the coverage of all scheduled classes and verify that the class reservation system is functioning optimally.
  4. Recruit, promote, and register eligible participants in all Health & Wellness programs. Ensures quality results by monitoring, evaluating program effectiveness to verify compliance with reporting procedures and program standards.
  5. Conduct onboarding and connect members to the Y Studios and Health & Wellness programs.
  6. Coordinate and organize Health & Wellness events design to promote programs and drive membership engagement and retention.
  7. Build strong, positive relationships with members, staff and volunteers that reflect the YMCA’s commitment to community and belonging.
  8. Monitor daily operations of the Y studios and maintain accurate inventory of all equipment related to the program to adhere to YMCA Health and Safety policies.
  9. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. HS Diploma is required. Preferred Bachelor's degree in exercise science, health/physical education, nutrition or related field or equivalent experience.
  2. Must hold a current Group Exercise Certification from a National Accredited Association with a minimum of 2 years instructional experience.
  3. Previous Supervisory experience needed.
  4. Must have excellent oral and written communication and listen first skills with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals and build community with small groups.
  5. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and enforce Y policies in a positive manner.
  6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  7. Required certifications: CPR/AED & Group Exercise Certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must have sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of positions and to safely supervise activities.

WORK SCHEDULE:     Tuesday-Friday 11am-7pm \ Saturday 7am-3pm

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $22.00 - $27.00 (depending on skills, experience and education)
