Primary Responsibility of the Position:
· Develops relevant policies and procedures. · Required to oversee the HIM dept. functions (legal medical record, record completion, release of information) for multiple locations. · The HIM Manager collaborates with Information Technology and other departments in the development of electronic content, data standards and completeness of documentation that ensures the integrity of the medical record. · Must plan, develop, and implement systems and processes to ensure delivery of efficient and effective services that meet the clinical and business needs at WCHC. · Supervises the work and employees of the Medical Records Department. · Analyzes systems and makes recommendations for improvement. · Implements medical records conversion projects. · Implements medical records storage project. · Answers or arranges for a subordinate to answer court subpoenas to produce medical records and other medical correspondence as required. · Represents the department at meetings as required. · Prepares monthly statistical reports. · Provide relevant in-service education to departmental staff. · Participates in Quality Improvement activities. · Order supplies and maintain inventories. · Rotates between Health Center sites as directed. |
