Job Summary:

 

Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Patient Safety Associate provides professional support and outreach services to individuals and families, assisting them in accessing necessary preventive and primary healthcare services. The Patient Safety Associate also plays a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all patients, visitors, and staff of the health center.                                                                                          

Primary Responsibility of the Position:

· Create and maintain a welcoming, professional, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

· Greet and direct guests to the appropriate personnel, departments, or locations.

· Patrol health center premises to promote safety and security.

· Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring entry is limited to authorized personnel.

· Monitor surveillance systems and designated access points.

· Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security-related incidents; investigate and document disturbances as appropriate.

· Identify and report safety hazards, security concerns, and maintenance issues to the appropriate department.

· Enforce organizational policies and procedures related to safety, security, and facility access.

· Secure the facility by ensuring doors, gates, and other access points are properly locked and secured.

· Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills when interacting with patients, visitors, staff, and community members.

· Assist medical departments with patient notifications and other related patient-support activities.

· Develop and maintain professional relationships with community and civic leaders, including churches, community centers, Community Action Programs, and other community-based organizations, to promote awareness and acceptance of the health center.

· Promote and explain available health center services while identifying the current and potential healthcare needs of patients and community members.

· Establish effective communication with patients to ensure they are aware of and have access to appropriate programs, services, and resources.

· Participate in community outreach activities and special events designed to enhance the health center’s visibility, reputation, and effectiveness within the community.

· Rotate among health center locations as operational needs require.

· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
