SUMMARY
The Housing & Self-Sufficiency Specialist is responsible for providing outreach, advocacy, support and programming to members of the community and to the clients at HOPE’s Homeless Resource Center (HRC). The Specialist assesses individual needs and connects clients to appropriate resources, prepares reports and correspondence, provides follow up services, performs outreach activities, and develops an information and referral network. The Specialist will also engage in on-site visits with HRC clients, perform client assessments, provide supportive and advocacy services and maintain files.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicant should have a high school diploma and 2 years of experience working with populations dealing with homelessness, housing insecurity, and/or food insecurity, or needing mental health services. Must be fluent in Spanish and English and have experience working with immigrant populations. Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of homelessness systems, resources, and mental illness awareness. Knowledge of HMIS (Housing Management Information System) and eLOCCS (Electronic Line of Credit Control System) preferred.
