Friends of Karen (FoK) is a mission-centered organization offering services to families in the NY tristate area who have a child with a life-threatening illness.  The Database Analyst serves the mission by turning data into critical information to drive FoK’s multi-faceted fundraising program.  This position reports to the Executive Director and is a key member of the development team. He/she is responsible for ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy across all development records and reports.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years of database management experience, is data-driven, analytical, tech-savvy, process-focused, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple projects, and mindful of the importance of building meaningful relationships with our donors.  While fundraising experience is desired, the candidate must have strong problem-solving skills and be self-motivated.  In addition, the candidate should have superior organizational skills and an ability to work independently as well as part of a hands-on professional development team and can balance priorities and meet deadlines. Understanding financial systems and being comfortable interpreting and reporting financial information, including general endowment transactions, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the Raiser’s Edge (fundraising) database and other donor databases used by the organization.
  • Support Friends of Karen’s fundraising efforts through timely data tracking and analysis.
  • Handle list segmentation and management for campaigns, special events, publications and outreach to current and prospective supporters.
  • Collaborate with Finance team in the preparation of month-end reports and fiscal year revenue data and gift documentation for financial audit and 990.
  • Oversee the recording of donations and the gift acknowledgement process;
  • Provide supervision for the Development Assistant;
  • Respond to donor inquiries and requests.

 This positon is full time with generous benefits and paid time off.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  Location of position is flexible.
